Kind , Caring , Sensitive
I am a 29 year old catering assistant and freelance photographer from England who has often felt different from the crowd growing up. I've had weight and body issues, break ups, family loss and have dealt with depression and anxiety. Despite all these things I gathered enough courage to leave home 2 years ago and get a place of my own. It's financially very hard and can be lonely at times but it has helped me feel more independent and stronger as a person and more confident.
I am currently off work recovering from a bike accident and have been having physio to help me walk properly again and thought I might aswell try and be useful where I can at the moment and sign up to this site.
When I was 7 years old I lost my baby sister to a rare heart condition and then only a few years later I lost my Grandad to Cancer and with my parents suffering the loss of their child and for my Father, also his Dad's death, I had to grow up very fast and be as helpful and supportive as possible.
I was badly bullied at school and also a little at my first job when I was 16. I was overweight, had ginger hair and had been brought up in quite a strict religious household so I was often alienated from other teenagers as I wasn't getting up to the things that they were. I chose to leave my religion when I was 15 for personal reasons but still have huge respect for it and still often feel like an outsider in life.
My parents, despite going through losing a child together and money problems, eventually couldn't make things work any longer after my Mum had weight loss surgery and lost a huge amount of weight. With her new found confidence she went a bit off the rails and had a bit of a mid-life crisis and ended up cheating on my dad. They split just before my 20th birthday but thankfully have remained firm friends.
I would like to become a mentor as I have been through quite a lot for a young woman and if there is any way I can give advice or just listen to someone else's problems then I would like to help.
