I'm 51 married with 2 children just turning 18 and 21,
One has just started Uni and the other has been working since finishing 6th form.
I've been working since I left school at 16 in 1979 at the death of punk and start Thatcherism. I worked at HM Dockyard on tugs for 2 1/2 years best job I ever had. I've been in the City or docklands for 28 years
I would like to think my friends described as honest, fun to be with, enjoys a laugh, a true friend to call on, a bit competitive in the gym and racket ball court. Has an open and honest character and will tell it as it is if it's the right time.
I have a wide circle of friends with an inner circle of best friends from when I was young.
It's the digital age and communication has been turned on it's head from when I had to rush home from work and try to catch my mates at their doors before they got to the pub before me. dont get me wrong I embrace it I just struggle to keep up with it!
Whilst it's Changed there are still some old values which I think are worth sharing with young men and women to try to apply these in a new light for today's generation.
I suffer from migraines and anxiety moments, this all started in 2004 after I had a fit. It hasn't changed me physically but it impacts me intermittently and the first can lead to the other. I'm lucky I have a neurologist who I call a friend ( I still pay him) who I can see through BUPA at work,
A lot of people don't have this and I would be happy to share what I have done and conitnue to do to handle this
it's tough choosing what you want to do if you dont know what you love doing. And this is what it is all about finding out what you love doing. if you love doing something you will do it well .This could be your career or your career could be the means to allow you to do what you love.
You can make choices which will allow you to get to that point and never be afraid to change things if its not working. Build a network of freidns and trusted people as you never know who they know through someone else. .
I feel I could provide a perspective of how to make choices and through my own life experiences, looking back on my life at key turning points with what might have been as well as what I have done right
