Lively , Confident , Patient
I am a recent university graduate, with a degree in Business Management. I am a very sporty person, and have represented national rugby academies at under 19 level. I have also toured with English Combined Counties to Australia and Hong Kong. After graduating I went on to work in London in the recruitment sector, and quickly realised I had a talent in the role. I left London to move back home and set up my own company, which as a 21 year old is extremely challenging! My first company has been running for almost 6 months, and I have since established a second company working alongside my original one. I am a very lively and bubbly person, and love to chat, meet new people and share my experiences with them. I love to listen to people's stories, no matter how big or small, and will always offer advice to anyone needing it wherever possible.
Whilst at school studying for my ALevels I struggled to cope with multiple commitments. I was playing sport to a very high level, and failed to recognise the importance of my studies, until it was almost too late. At the last minute I was able to step back and realise what was happening, and I eventually gained the grades required to go to university. Whenever possible now, I try and teach the importance of time management and prioritisation to those around me seeking such advice.
As a 21 year old with no business experience, I left my secure, full time work in London to move home and set up my own company. This was a very stressful and daunting experience, but with hard work and confidence I was able to successfully establish myself and the company. This experience is very hard for some people, and often people are unaware of what to do, and how to go about setting up a company and marketing it etc. I found a lot of the information my self, and learnt by my mistakes, but I would like to pass advice and tips on which I have acquired over the past few months.
Bullying was a big part of my life when I was younger. I was taunted for being overweight everyday at school, and it is something which has remained with me ever since. It changed me as a person, and it changed the way I go about my life. Through support from family and friends I was able to overcome the effects of bullying, and enjoy my time at school. If it wasn't for the mentors I spoke to and shared my problems with I would not have been able to have a successful and enjoyable time at school. It is for this reason I want to pass on the advice I was given, and to help people who are suffering the same as I did.
Over time I have had contact with many mentors in different mediums, both online and offline. I feel it is an extremely important service to give back to people. There should always be someone you can turn to and talk to, be it in person or online, just to have reassurances and comfort, which people need to overcome issues. I want to give something back after using mentors for many years, and be able to share my experiences in the hope that people will remain strong and overcome any problems they may have, or find information they are seeking.
