Artistic , Kind , Determined
I'm Lauren and im a florist in the dorset area. I've been in my trade as an apprentice for over 4 years now, and even though ive had my fair share of problems I adore my job and couldnt imagine doing anything else.
My favourite part of my trade are the competitions that are available to participate in. I got involved with UK SKills and with thanks to them and through hard work on my behalf I am now recognized as one of the best young uk florists within the industry.
my ambition is to one day have a training school or to teach and be able to pass on my experiences to others.
I also have a passion for shopping... no one does shopping like i do shopping lol!
I'm certainly no tutour but I do work in a shop almost everyday and I've been through the NVQ courses level 2 and 3 and still have the paper work! so if you want help with a question for your folders im here!
And also I love paper work that much that im going back to college to do my level 4 higher diploma!
Also its taken me a while to be able to find a shop i am truely happy in as i have worked with some very difficult people in the past, so if your having problems I could try and advise you about the best way to deal with that too
Over the past year I have been given a lot of advice on floristry competitions. Some of the competitions ive done have been chelsea flower show, tatton park , UK skills (from the very begining to the finals) and the BFA comps.
Ive had a lot of training abroad with international floristry designers, such as Per Benjamin, Gregor Leursch, Carles Fontanilias, Elly Linn, Gert Pattyn and many more!
whether its encouragement or advise you need on a competition im your girl!
A lot of people come to me for advice! so somewhere along the line I must be good at it!
from relationships to what shoes go best with what outfit!
Im not always right, but Im giving a non biast opinion, which is honest.
so whatever the problem is I'm happy to try and help you!
I believe this mentoring is a great idea as sometimes young people are a bit scared or unsure about asking for help in classrooms, or cant feel they can ask their friends, tutours, employers or family for the advice they need, So to be able to ask someone who has been there, done that and got the t-shirt could make all the difference! I have learnt so so much in the past couple of years and I would love to have the oppurtunity to be able to share what I know. And I believe this could help me in my own career path, especially as I would like to be able to do some sort of tutouring, where I will be interacting with young people all the time, so what better time to start than now and what better place to do it in than here!
