quantum-loving , spiritually-inspired , party-goer
I am 25 yrs old and have lived quite a random life - from part owning a successful business in the world of corporate finance to taking a hallucognic medicine called Ayahuasca with a Peruvian shaman.
I have a keen interest in philophsy, quantum physics and the spiritual world. Hence the name pachamama (which incidently many belive means mother earth but in fact translates to mother universe).
I live currently in between two worlds constantly looking for compromise. I remain in corporate finance and have a very successful career which has been financial fruitful. This has enabled me to purchase property in the south of France and travel to places which many only dream of. However, I very mindful of downfalls of such a material existance and have a strong belief in karma. In fact I strongly believe that your intentions and perceptions of the world have a huge impact on what you get out of it!
''All know the way, but few actually walk it.” Zen Master Boddhidharma
Within the space of 6 years, I have multiplied my salary by over 10 and have enjoyed great success in each position I have taken.I am able to give advice on job satisfaction, motivation and becoming successful.
Despite what many would have considered as the perfect life - successful career, penthouse appartments, more disposable income that I could spend, my choice of partners. I always felt an emptiness which over time manifested into a depression. No matter what I achieved, bought , gained - it all seem so utterly pointless! I resisted the temptation of Medication and instead took an interest into topics such as Philosphy and spiritual existence. This in turn led me to going to see the Dalai Lama then meeting a shaman and drinking the sacred Ayahuasca brew . Throughout what I would call a inner transformation, I have now come out the other side and not only am I a much happier, positive person but every other part of my life has gone from strength to strengh or perhaps its just now that I can appreciate it!
If you haven't read Deepak Chopra's '7 spiritual laws to success' that would be a good start - as I found it very inspiring and in fact very true.
As the quote says in my profile - everyone knows the way but its a very few who actually walk it! Without going into a lecture or speaking cliche after cliche. I think the main points are:-
1) make sure in any given situation that your intentions are right
2)realise that you are at your best when giving or helping someelse. This is intrisic human nature
3) life is far to short - to wish away time and say next year I'll do this , in a couple of years I'll move to Australia etc. It won't happen - try and live like you are going to die next year. why do people only live there dreams when they get that kind of news. Most people don't get the option
4) don't have fear - face any you have! this will make you stronger! I mean this in a literal sense
5)don't moan - actually realise how lucky you are! This comes from compassion - someone always has it worse than you! So get over yourself.
I don't really like the word mentoring though I think its great to share experiences and give advice to people who generally want help. A couple of years ago, I would have accused people 'mentoring' on here as egotistical - doing this purely to put themselves on a pedestal and wanting approval ( with the rating sytem) , however with a renewed faith, I trust people are actually genuienly caring,so think the forum is a great idea! Also with Darwin's centennial just passing - I think a little unknown fact about him and his views ( which I think is particlary inspiring) is his belief that we have a certain control over our evolution. On a very basic level regarding who we have children with but also on a level of consiousness. The impact we can have on just one person whether that be just a smile in the morning or giving advice and picking someone up on here for example - can have such huge effects which snowball with every interaction that person has for the rest of there life!
