Self description

Female , 25

I am 21 and currently in Uni.
i like to think im a closed book but people always say they know me when they really have no idea...i found this quote and i think it describes me : "What you see is only half of what I am. Only a part of me is what I show you. You don't know me, you never will"

I have learnt a lot in my life and can relate to other teens. So no mater what the problem..or how minor it is..I hope I can give you some advice for it :D

Life experiences

boys

can't live with them cant live without them-but i like to think I know how to handle them know that i'm older and i've learned from past relationships

bullying

Although I wasn't bullied physically, when people made snide comments about my appearence when I was younger it really hurt me. I really wanted to change and become prettier or more popular, and couldn't do anything bout my appearence as i was only young. As I got older, I changed my hair, started wearing subtle make up and made little improvements which gave me more confidence. I surrounded myself with true friends and became much happier, not having to worry about my looks all the time

friends

Recently, I have drifted apart from a group of friends. This was because of many lies and secrets that we kept. My 'friend' turned out to be someone who was going behind my back and making up stories about me. She started hanging around with a new group of girls and made my life hell. Since coming to uni, i've found it hard to find a group that i want to be friends with, so i understand how it feels to be lonely etc.

I am very lucky to have found your website. Recently I wrote about a problem which I face very often.... There were 10 responses from 10 mentors. They have really explained to me and made me understand that I do not have any problem. Your services are wonderful and I am very much thankful to all of you.

I have been mentoring on HM for 18 months. I really enjoy it & hopefully I am helping other people. Recently I posted my my first 'request for a mentor'. I have been completely bowled over by the response. So many people taking their time & making the effort to offer constructive advice in a friendly polite manner. For me it completely validates the intent behind HM. It reminds me how many good, helpful people there are out there. Thanks for providing such a great service.
'I called out for mentor assistance a week or so ago.

I have been inundated with unbelievably helpful replies, and now have a toolkit to draw on to start turning around behaviours and mind-sets that have been detrimental in my life.

I just want to thank Horsesmouth and all the amazing people who reached out to me.  Each and every one of you has given me something to think about, and some have given me heaps of material with which to start working.  Now I need to do the work! Thank you so much!'
